Halloween is almost here, and that means Atlanta’s best bars and restaurants are brewing up plenty of spook-tacular specials. From chilling costume contests to frightfully good food and drink deals, these bewitching hotspots promise a monster of a good time!



5Church Atlanta celebrates “Yelloween” on Oct. 28 with Veuve Clicquot specials starting at 9 p.m. and a costume contest at midnight. The festivities at Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar in Virginia-Highland kick off on Oct. 25 with live music and a Horror Movie Scream contest and are quickly followed by the annual pumpkin carving on Oct. 26. The staff is tapping a special keg of Southern Tier Brewing Company's Warlock imperial stout, pairing it with a Big Green Egg-smoked prime rib special for the evening. Oct. 27 is all about the family as Atkins Park joins with nearby businesses for a festival in the park next door. From 2-6 p.m., enjoy hot apple cider, candy, games and a kid-friendly DJ. On Saturday, Oct. 28, Atkins Park’s annual Halloween party is sure to conjure good spirits with beer and Jack Daniel’s specials. Cure that hangover the next morning with a Sunday brunch special featuring a mimosa pint and a stack of pumpkin pancakes with bacon or sausage for $12. Kids get into the action again on Oct. 30 with a Candy Crawl. Finally, on Oct. 31, break out the scary costumes for the Halloween Hangover contest. Buckhead/Sandy Springs

Gypsy Kitchen is throwing a Day of the Dead Halloween blowout on Oct. 28 at 9 p.m. The Shops Buckhead Atlanta restaurant will have $8 Casamigos cocktails, DJ and costume contest. 404-939-9840; gk-atl.com.

 Johnny’s Hideaway, Buckhead’s favorite haunt for drinking and dancing, hosts its annual Halloween bash on Oct. 31. The city’s best costume party features $500 in prizes. 404-233-8026; johnnyshideaway.com.

 Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante, Buckhead’s Italian grocery store and restaurant, is serving squid ink pasta on Halloween night, as well as arancione e nero (with pumpkin, ricotta and Grana Padano cheese), with both vegetarian ($15) and meat ($18) options. 404-500-2181; storicofresco.com.

Both the Midtown and Brookhaven locations of HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern have two opportunities to celebrate the season. For adults, Saturday, Oct. 28 brings a 10 p.m. DJ and dancing Halloween party complete with costume contest worth $50 to $300. On Halloween night, kids eat free. Taco Mac is tapping into the Halloween spirit with a special treat for beer lovers.
